The BYD Atto 3 is the company’s second vehicle in the Indian car market. The new BYD electric SUV is loaded with features and has a futuristic appearance. The price, however, has not yet been declared, although it is expected to be in the range of Rs 25-30 lakh. The SUV will face competition from one of its key rivals, the MG ZS EV, at this price point. So, let’s compare the BYD Atto 3’s Dimensions, Features, Battery specifications, Performance, and Range to the MG ZS EV.

In terms of dimensions, the BYD is the segment leader in length and width. It is 132 mm longer than the MG ZS EV. Furthermore, the Atto 3 is 66 mm broader than the ZS EV. The ZS EV is 34mm taller than the Atto 3.

The BYD Atto 3 comes with a panoramic sunroof, a 5-inch digital instrument panel, and powered driver and passenger seats. Wireless charging, automated temperature control, and a PM 2.5 air filter are all included. It boasts a 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as 8 speakers. The presence of 7 airbags, TPMS, ESP, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS makes the BYD Atto 3 one of the safest vehicles in the competition.

The ZS EV, on the other hand, includes a panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, basic ADAS capabilities, and 6-airbags.

The BYD Atto 3 is powered by a 60.48 kWh BYD Blade Battery pack with an ARAI-certified range of 521 km on a full charge. BYD says that a DC fast charger can charge the Atto 3’s battery pack from 0 to 80% in 50 minutes, but a standard AC charger will take 10 hours to completely charge.

Whereas, the MG ZS EV comes with two battery pack options: a 44.5 kWh pack and a 50.3 kWh pack. The former has a range of 419 km on a full charge, while the latter has a range of 461 km. In terms of charging time, the battery packs take 50 minutes to completely charge using a DC fast charger, while a conventional unit takes around 16 hours.

The BYD Atto 3’s battery pack and single permanent magnet synchronous electric motor provide 201 bhp and 310 Nm of peak torque, and the all-electric SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.3 seconds.

The 44.5 kWh battery pack in the MG ZS EV produces 141 horsepower and 353 Nm of torque, while the bigger 50.3 kWh battery pack produces 174 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. MG claims a 0 to 100 kmph time of 8.5 seconds.

The price of the BYD Atto 3 has yet to be confirmed, but it is likely to be released next month, along with its formal introduction. Therefore the expected price of the SUV may lie between Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh ex-showroom.

The MG ZS EV, on the other hand, comes in three trim levels: Excite, Exclusive, and Exclusive Iconic Ivory, with prices ranging from Rs 22.58 lakh to Rs 26.59 lakh ex-showroom.
