Following the success of the Nissan Magnite as a strong product. Nissan has revealed its future ambitions for India, showcasing the new Nissan SUVs in India, which include the X-Trail, Qashqai, and Juke. The carmaker also revealed that testing on the X-Trail and Qashqai has begun and that the viability of the Nissan Juke would be evaluated.
Nissan intends to evaluate the SUVs’ appropriateness for the Indian automotive market, thus the testing will evaluate each vehicle’s capacity to satisfy the demands of purchasers. Nissan is putting the three SUVs through their paces at its Chennai production site.
1. Nissan X-Trail
The first is the Nissan X-Trail. It comes with two types of engine options. One is equipped with a 1.5L turbo petrol engine capable of producing 204bhp and 330Nm of torque. The other features a 1.5L turbo petrol engine with second-generation e-Power series hybrid tech, producing 213bhp and 500Nm of torque. It is built on the revised CMF-C crossover platform developed by the Renault-Nissan Mitsubishi Alliance.
The hybrid version of the SUV has four-wheel drive. The non-hybrid model only has front-wheel drive. The Nissan X-Trail has three driving modes: Mud, Snow, and Gravel. The car also comes with a CVT automatic transmission. This luxury executive SUV will be offered in 5-seat or 7-seat configurations.
2. Nissan Juke
The Nissan Juke SUV comes in second place. It runs on the CMF-B platform. It is driven by a 1.0L three-cylinder engine with 115bhp and 200Nm of torque. The engine will be available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch DCT with paddle shifters. Customers will receive an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a Bose audio system and speakers.
3. Nissan Qashqai
The Nissan Qashqai is the third and last one. It is driven by a 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine with a 12V mild hybrid system capable of producing up to 270Nm of torque. It sports Nissan’s V-Motion Chrome grille and matrix LED headlights in the shape of a boomerang.
The SUV comes with an Xtronic CVT automatic powertrain and optional 4WD. The electric variant of the SUV is equipped with a 1.5L petrol engine and a 140kW electric motor capable of delivering 156bhp.
