Jeep has launched the 5th generation Grand Cherokee in India. The SUV costs Rs 77.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Therefore India is the first right-hand-drive market to get the Grand Cherokee. It is positioned above the Meridian in Jeep India’s line-up. If talking about the Deliveries then it will commence by the end of this month.

When it comes to the exterior profile, a conventional seven-slot grille and long-range radar stand out. It also has a lowered roof and beltline, which is matched by broad window glass, which helps to improve aerodynamic efficiency without compromising the passenger room. The SUV has 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, LED reflector headlights, LED taillights, and LED fog lights.

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee has luxurious upholstery and an LED ambient lighting system on the inside. A full-color 10-inch head-up display (HUD), Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charger, an electric IRVM, heated/ventilated seat options, and over-the-map updates are among the features.

2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Engine/ Powertrain Options
Unlike the previous-generation Grand Cherokee, which had both petrol and diesel engine options, the current model only has a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. This engine produces 272hp of power and 400Nm of peak torque and comes standard with an 8-speed automated transmission that sends power to all four wheels via a four-wheel drive system. The new Grand also has terrain modes: Auto, Sport, Mud/Sand, and Snow.

Jeep has set the pricing of its SUV at Rs 77.50 lakh (ex-showroom). With this initial pricing, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is quite more costly than the Jaguar F-Pace. The Volvo XC90, Range Rover Velar, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q7, and BMW X5 are also competitors. Only the Volvo and Audi have a 7-seat configuration, while the rest are 5-seaters.
