Mahindra has unveiled five new electric SUV (e-SUV) concepts as it prepares to enter India’s rapidly growing electric vehicle market. The new concepts preview a range of new battery electric SUVs that will be available in the coming years, with the company aiming to have a five-strong e-SUV lineup by 2027.
The five upcoming born-electric SUVs have been divided into two distinct sub-brands based on Mahindra’s new INGLO platform: XUV.e and BE, Apart from this here’s everything you need to know-
Platforms are based on INGLO (Indian Global) Skateboard Architecture–
The new Mahindra concepts are built around a new modular INGLO (Indian Global) skateboard architecture. According to Mahindra, the platform is size adjustable and can be used with a variety of top hats and drive configurations. The INGLO platform supports rear- and all-wheel drive platforms with power outputs of up to 250kW (335 bhp). The platform also supports a range of battery sizes from 60 to 80 kWh, as well as fast charging capabilities of up to 175kW. VW’s MEB electric vehicle platform is also used in the INGLO platform.
Mahindra Concepts are divided into 2 EV sub-brands-
Mahindra’s new EV lineup will be divided into two separate brands. The first is the XUV brand, which will debut two electric SUVs by the end of 2026, and the second is a new BE brand, which will also debut two EVs during the same time period. The XUV brand will be distinguished by the company’s Twin Peaks logo, which will be finished in Copper.
Mahindra XUV.e8 Concept
The first model to enter production will be the XUV.e8, which will go on sale in December 2024. This is basically an electric version of Mahindra’s current flagship SUV, the XUV700. Although it is based on the INGLO platform, the XUV.e8 is conceptually similar to the XUV700, with the same basic layout, silhouette, and three rows of seats.
The XUV.e8’s dimensions have been revealed by Mahindra to be 4,740mm long, 1,900mm wide, and 1,760mm tall. It will have a 2,762 mm wheelbase. That means the XUV.e8 will be 45mm longer, 10mm wider, and 5mm taller than the XUV700, with a 7mm longer wheelbase.
Mahindra XUV.e9 Concept
The second XUV.e9 model will be available in April 2025. It is not an electric version of any existing model, but rather a brand-new vehicle with a coupe-like design. The XUV.e9’s dimensions have been revealed by Mahindra to be 4,790mm long, 1,905mm wide, and 1,690mm tall. The wheelbase of the XUV.e9 will be 2,775mm. Unlike the XUV.e8, the XUV.e9 will have five seats.
More Information about BE Range-
Now, let’s talk about the BE Range. The BE.05 is 4370mm long, making it similar in size to the MG ZS EV, & Nexon EV, as well as the current crop of compact SUVs. The concept has been 1900mm wide and 1635mm tall, with a wheelbase that stretched to 2775mm. Following the BE.05 will be the larger BE.07, which is nearly 200mm longer and 25mm taller despite sharing the same wheelbase. The Mahindra BE.07 is marketed as a family SUV, with the company claiming first-in-class cabin experiences.

Mahindra claims that it’s new electric SUV lineup will meet the highest safety standards, including a full 5-star global NCAP rating. Furthermore, the company stated that the new INGLO platform will support autonomous driver assistance systems with up to 5 radar sensors on board, making it futureproof up to Level 2+ autonomous driving.
Supports Plug-and-Play For Home Appliances-
According to Mahindra, the new INGLO platform supports plug-and-play for household appliances, allowing users to connect devices to the vehicle not only for charging but also to use the in-car displays for work, leisure, and gaming. All five SUV concepts featured multiple screens, including the driver information display and a central touchscreen, with some models also including a third co-driver unit.
