One of the most anticipated and significant new car launches of this year is the Maruti Grand Vitara. It will signal Maruti Suzuki’s entry into the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos-dominated mid-size SUV market. It’s interesting to note that the Vitara will be the country’s most expensive and high-tech SUV from the Indo-Japanese automaker. Currently, the Maruti XL6 MPV, which costs between Rs. 11.29 lakh and Rs. 14.55 lakh, is the brand’s flagship model (all, ex-showroom).
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara- Expected Price
The new Maruti Vitara SUV is rumored to be priced at Rs 9.50 lakh for the base variant, though its official prices are expected to be revealed in the upcoming months. If it is introduced at this price, it will undercut Creta, which has a price range of Rs. 10.44 lakh to Rs. 18.18 lakh. Maruti Suzuki’s aggressive pricing will undoubtedly steal Creta’s customers. Bookings for the model have already started officially, with an initial deposit of Rs 10,000.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara- Will feature AllGrip AWD (all-wheel-drive) system
The brand’s most technologically advanced vehicle, the new Maruti Grand Vitara, will feature the first-ever AllGrip AWD (all-wheel-drive) system in its segment. The Suzuki Vitara and S-Cross, which are sold internationally, both feature the “AllGrip Select” system. The company’s upcoming Vitara model will be the first to offer this feature in India.

The new Maruti SUV will feature a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, leather seat upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, automatic air conditioning, and a Head-Up Display, a digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, and connected car technology. These features are similar to those found in the Toyota Urban Cruiser.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara- Engine/ Powertrains
Along with some other components, the upcoming Toyota mid-size SUV and the new Maruti Vitara SUV will share the same powertrain. In other words, the setup will consist of a 1.5L K15C Dualjet and 1.5L TNGA Atkinson cycle petrol with a high-voltage hybrid architecture. Either a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox or a 5-speed manual gearbox is available for the SUV model lineup.
