Maruti Suzuki has ambitious plans for the Indian market. In the coming years, the brand intends to expand its SUV portfolio with a number of new models, in addition to new-generation and facelift versions of existing models. The automaker will use the Auto Expo 2023 event to introduce long-awaited vehicles to the Indian market. Here’s a complete list of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki cars in India in 2023-
1. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara CNG
Following the debut of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG, the Grand Vitara is slated to be the first Maruti SUV to provide CNG. However, Brezza CNG is also expected to arrive shortly, although it will most likely follow Grand Vitara CNG. As a result, the Grand Vitara CNG might be introduced as soon as the Toyota Hyryder CNG hits the market.
The 1.5-litre K15C four-cylinder engine will power the Grand Vitara CNG. This is the same as with the Ertiga CNG and the XL6 CNG. The performance figures are believed to be the same as the XL6 CNG, which produces 88 hp and 121.5 Nm. The fuel efficiency will be comparable to the Toyota Hyryder CNG, which gives 26.10 km/kg. The CNG model is estimated to be Rs 75k to Rs 95k more expensive. For now, the Grand Vitara CNG is confirmed to be available in Delta and Zeta models.
2. Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG
As per internet sources, Maruti has decided to offer a CNG trim with every model of the currently available Maruti Suzuki Brezza 2022. In fact, the CNG version of the Brezza might be available with both manual and automatic transmissions.
In terms of powertrain, the Brezza CNG might be equipped with the 1.5L K15C petrol engine as well as smart hybrid technology that will be linked to the CNG kit. The output figures as usual will be slightly less than what the ICE engine offers and can be somewhere around 102bhp power with 137Nm torque. The biggest advantage however will be the mileage, which can be as good as 25km/kg to 30 km/kg which isn’t impossible for Maruti’s S-CNG.
3. Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross
The Maruti Baleno Cross has also been spotted testing on Indian roads. The car has a distinctive sloping roofline, a slightly more upright front fascia, and increased ground clearance. According to the images, the front grille appears to be much larger and wider, with highlights such as split headlamps with lower-set main headlights and streaks of daytime
The Baleno cross is expected to be powered by the same 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated K12C Dualjet petrol engine found in the Baleno. This engine produces 90 bhp and 113 Nm of torque and is available with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission. It is also possible that Maruti will bring back the turbocharged 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine
4. Maruti Suzuki MPV
The Toyota Innova Hycross will be the first cross-badged Toyota sold in India by Maruti Suzuki, and it is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2023. The C-MPV will share the same TNGA-C modular platform as well as the interior components and powertrain.
It will be powered by a 2.0-litre NA petrol engine and a powerful hybrid version of the same engine. It will be positioned above the XL6 and will provide Maruti Suzuki with a significant advantage in entering a new segment & will be available at Nexa outlets.
5. Maruti Suzuki 5 Door Jimny
Suzuki is already putting the five-door Jimny through its paces in international markets. Maruti Suzuki will unveil the all-new model at the 2023 Auto Expo in India, after showcasing the three-door variant at the previous Auto Expo. The five-door Suzuki Jimny has a longer wheelbase and a longer length to accommodate the extra two doors for the second row. It also gets extra windows to complement the new doors, which are square-shaped and complement Jimny’s overall upright and boxy design.
This new five-door Jimny will retain the three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and the traditional instrument console with dedicated housings. It will also have a touchscreen infotainment system, air conditioner controls in the centre console, and rounded AC vents. Maruti Suzuki Jimny will use the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated K15C Dualjet engine found in the updated Ertiga and XL6, as well as the all-new Brezza.
6. Maruti Suzuki Swift
The current third-generation Swift has already reached the end of its life cycle, and the all-new fourth-generation model has been spotted on European roads for testing. The new Swift is said to have larger dimensions than the current model, but it will retain the car’s now-iconic silhouette and squatted stance.
The interior of the all-new fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift will also be redesigned, with many new-generation features such as a head-up display, wireless charger, and side and curtain airbags. However, it is expected to have the same heart under the hood in the form of the new-generation 1.2-litre four-cylinder K12C Dualjet 90 PS petrol engine.
7. Maruti Suzuki Swift Dezire
The Dzire, like the Swift, will get a major facelift. The new Dzire will be built on a modified version of the HEARTECT platform that underpins the Maruti Baleno. The Swift will be followed by the new Dzire. The Dzire will also be powered with a 1.2-litre 3-cyl petrol engine with strong hybrid tech which puts out up to 30kmpl of fuel efficiency.
