The sub-compact SUV segment is one of the most popular in the Indian automobile industry. As a result, according to spy shots on the internet, the two best-selling SUVs are set to be released in the coming days, with numerous updates. Before their official debuts, here’s a detailed comparison of the two upcoming SUVs- The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza & the New Hyundai Venue.
Exterior Updates-
According to the most recent revealed spy shots, the new Brezza will highlight numerous changes over the current model, including a new grille at the front surrounded by sleeker headlamps with L-shaped DRLs. The 2022 Brezza will get bulkier plastic body cladding as well as new diamond-cut alloy wheels. The updated SUV will have slim wraparound LED tail lights at the back, with ‘BREZZA’ fonts placed beneath the Suzuki emblem. The compact SUV will continue to have fake skid plates on both ends.
Please keep in mind that the Venue is still only getting a facelift for the time being, which means that the aesthetic updates will be less significant than those of the Brezza. Regardless, the Venue facelift will include an updated front end with a new, larger parametric jewel grille design. The daytime running lamps will be integrated into the grille, while the main headlamp unit will remain a separate piece located in the lower portion of the front bumper. According to spy shots, the Venue facelift will also include new sleek-looking L-shaped wraparound LED tail lights that could be linked together with a strip. Of course, Hyundai will include new alloy wheels.
Interior Updates-
The new-generation Brezza’s cabin will almost certainly be completely redesigned. Previous spy shots have suggested that the SUV will have a floating touchscreen infotainment system with a screen size of up to 9 inches, just like the recently launched Baleno 2022. The vehicle will also have a new flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters and a redesigned instrument cluster with a multi-info display in the centre.
The Venue, on the other hand, is expected to retain its cabin layout, albeit with a few notable changes such as a larger infotainment screen, an updated instrument cluster, new seat upholstery, and possibly a new steering wheel design.
Features-
The new Brezza is expected to have a wireless charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Suzuki Connect connected-car tech, Electronic Stability Control, a 360-degree camera, and an electric sunroof, making it the first Maruti vehicle to have this feature. An Arkamys-tuned sound system, similar to the 2022 Baleno, could also be available.
The new Venue is expected to retain its equipment list, which includes auto climate control with rear AC vents, wireless phone charging, cruise control, push-button start/stop, an electric sunroof, and so on, in addition to a larger infotainment screen, a digital instrument cluster, more connected features, and additional safety tech.
Engine Specifications-
The Hyundai Venue will most likely be powered by the same engines as before: 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol (83 PS/114 Nm), 1.5-litre diesel (100 PS/240 Nm), and 1.0-litre three-pot turbo petrol (120 PS/172 Nm). Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual transmission, a 6-speed automatic transmission, a 7-speed DCT, and a 6-speed iMT.
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, on the other hand, will be powered by a new 1.5-litre four-cylinder nat-asp petrol engine producing 103 PS and 136.8 Nm torque. This is the same engine found in the new XL6 and Ertiga MPVs. Along with the standard 5-speed MT, a new 6-speed AT gearbox will be available as an option.
Expected Price-
The introduction of newer models of both SUVs could push their starting prices closer to Rs 8 lakh.
