The German Giant Automaker Volkswagen recently unveiled its full-sized 7 seater SUV “Talagon” at Shanghai Motor Show 2021. Based on the MQB platform, the Talagon is slightly bigger than the Volkswagen Atlas that used to be the biggest SUV from Volkswagen before the debut of Talagon.
Exterior
The Volkswagen Talagon is 5,152mm long, 2,002mm wide, and 1,795mm tall, making it around 110 mm longer than its sister SUV Atlas, 102 mm longer than a Kia Telluride, and over 70 mm longer than the Audi Q7.
Talking about the exterior, Talagon comes with a muscular front profile with LED projector headlamps and integrated LED daytime running lights. The headlamp housings are connected to the front grille. The front bumper gets BMW-inspired air curtains. The rear profile of the car gets eye-catching connected LED taillights.
Interior
Coming to the interiors, the SUV will be offered with a choice of six and seven seating configurations.
It gets a three-spoke flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel. The dashboard gets a modern design along with the latest version of Volkswagen’s infotainment system, next to a digital instrument cluster. Overall the dashboard layout looks very premium.
What’s under the hood ?
The Talagon will offer “different powertrains,” but the top-of-the-line variant will use a 2.5L V6 which produces 294 bhp of power and 500 N-m of peak torque with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and all-wheel-drive(4Motion in VW’s language ). Also, there would be a 2.0-liter TSI engine for lower variants.
