The long-awaited MG Comet EV will be launched in the market in April 2023. The vehicle is expected to cost between Rs 6-7 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It will compete with the Tata Tiago EV and the Citroen eC3.
MG Comet- Exterior Profile
The electric MG Comet will be built on the brand’s new Global Small Electric Vehicles (GSEV) platform. It has a tall and boxy stance for a compact car. The Comet electric vehicle is outfitted with dual, vertically stacked headlamps, LED daytime running lamps with integrated turn indicators, and a dual-tone front bumper.
The vehicle will be equipped with small 12-inch steel wheels with wheel covers. The small EV will have a high-mounted stop lamp, vertically stacked tail lamps, and a flat rear bumper at the back.
MG Comet- Interiors/ Features
The interior of the Comet EV has a dual-tone theme. The twin 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and the instrument cluster are the cabin’s main attractions. Other features include connected car technology, automatic climate control, keyless entry, steering-mounted controls, regenerative braking, parking sensors, hill start assist, and stability control.
MG Comet- Battery Specifications/ Claimed Range
The battery pack options for the MG Comet EV will be shared with the Wuling Air EV. The base model could get a 17.3kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 200km. The top-tier model will have a 26.7kWh battery pack and a claimed range of around 300km on a single charge.
MG Comet- Pricing/ Rivals
The Comet EV is expected to be priced starting between Rs 6-7 lakh by MG (ex-showroom). When it is released, the Comet EV will compete with the Tata Tiago EV and the recently launched Citroen eC3. The MG Comet EV is expected to be released in April 2023.
