Tata Motors had a big presence at Auto Expo 2023, with several models on display in a mix of EV and ICE vehicles. So here is a list of some models that we will see as production versions for sale in the market-
1. Tata Harrier/ Safari Red Dark Edition
The Harrier and Safari Red Dark Edition are regarded by their bold Oberon Black exteriors, Piano Black Grille with Red accents, Charcoal Black Alloys with Red Calipers, and Dark logo badging. The interiors are further emphasized by a Red Interior theme. Both vehicles have numerous safety features, such as six airbags and a 360-degree camera. The addition of ADAS, a first for Tata vehicles, is the most significant change.
Furthermore, the 2023 Harrier and Safari are powered by the same FCA 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 170PS and 350Nm of torque. There are two transmission options: a manual 6-speed and an automatic 6-speed.
2. Tata Harrier EV
Tata also displayed the Harrier EV at the 2023 Auto Show. The Harrier electric will enter production in our market in 2024. The new model is built on the Land Rover-derived OMEGA-ARC platform and Tata’s Gen 2 EV architecture. Tata Motors hasn’t revealed anything about the Harrier EV’s battery capacity or electric motor.
It will be equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system. The new model is expected to have a battery pack of around 60kWh and a real-world range of 400-500km.
3. Tata Curvv SUV Coupe
At the 2023 Auto Expo, Tata Motors displayed the Curvv SUV Coupe concept. The new model is expected to arrive in our market sometime in 2024. It will be built on Tata’s GEN 2 platform, which supports a variety of body styles and powertrains. The new Tata Curvv SUV Coupe will be available with both gasoline and electric powertrains.
It will be powered by a 1.2L 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine capable of producing 125PS at 5,000rpm and 225Nm of peak torque between 1700 and 3500rpm. It is expected to be available with both a 6-speed manual and a dual-clutch automatic transmission. The EV version is expected to have a 40-50kWh battery pack and a range of around 500km.
4. Tata Sierra SUV
Tata also showcased the Sierra concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. The production version of the electric SUV will be available in the country in 2025. It will be designed and developed on the Gen 2 platform or the hybrid SIGMA architecture. The Sierra electric model is expected to have a 60-80kWh battery pack and a FWD electric motor. The Sierra EV could also get all-wheel drive with two electric motors mounted on the front and rear axles. It will most likely have a range of around 500km on a single charge.
5. Tata Altroz Racer Edition
The Tata Altroz Racer edition was on display at the 2023 Auto Expo. It receives some cosmetic changes to improve its sporty appeal, as well as some new features. A large 10.25-inch infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, an electric sunroof, and other features are included. It will also be more powerful than the Altroz iTurbo and will compete with tough competitors like the Hyundai i20 N-line.
6. Tata Tiago EV Blitz
Apart from the Tiago EV, Tata Motors also displayed the Tiago EV Blitz at the Auto Expo 2023, which will be available in showrooms later this year. The Tata Tiago EV Blitz is a more aggressive version of the Tiago electric hatchback. It receives several cosmetic updates as well as black accents throughout the body to enhance its sporty appeal. Mechanically, it’s likely to be the same as the standard Tiago EV.
7. Tata Punch/ Altroz iCNG
Tata Motors displayed CNG versions of the Punch and Altroz at the Auto Expo 2023, and it is expected to be available in India by June 2023. Both models have twin CNG storage cylinders and a capacity of 60 litres.
The Tata Punch CNG and Altroz iCNG are both powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 84 bhp and 113Nm of torque. In pure CNG mode, the motor will propel 76 bhp and 97Nm of torque.
