Here is a list of the top five most affordable fuel-efficient cars available in India –

1. Maruti Suzuki Celerio

The first vehicle on the list is the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, which has a CNG variant with a mileage of 35.50 km/kg and a petrol variant with a mileage of 26kmpl. It is available in four models: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+. A new 1.0L, 3-cylinder K10C Dualjet petrol engine was added. It has a maximum power output of 67bhp and a torque output of 89Nm. It has a mileage of 26.68kmpl when paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT. Meanwhile, the CNG version has a mileage of 35.6 km/l. The pricing of the car ranges from Rs 5.35 lakh to Rs 7.13 lakh (Ex-showroom).

2. Maruti Suzuki WagonR

The Maruti Suzuki WagonR is the other most affordable fuel-efficient car and has been a favourite of the masses for years, and the S-CNG variant of the car only adds to its appeal. The WagonR is powered by a 1.0 L K-Series engine that produces 55.92 bhp and 82.1 Nm of torque and has a fuel economy of 35.05 km/kg on CNG. It starts at Rs 6.43 lakh ex-showroom.

3. Maruti Suzuki Baleno

Another vehicle is the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, which has a 1.2L, 4-cylinder K12N Dualjet petrol engine and a factory-fitted CNG kit, and is capable of producing 77.5bhp and 98.5Nm of peak torque. The company claims that the Baleno CNG has a fuel efficiency of 30.61km/kg. In its boot space, a 55-litre CNG tank has been installed. It is available in two CNG variants: Delta and Zeta, with prices starting at Rs 8.30 lakh and going up to Rs 9.23 lakh.

4. Tata Tiago

The Tata Tiago is the fourth. It is available in six different models: XE, XT, XZ, XZA, XZ+, and XZA+. These are powered by a 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 86bhp and 113Nm of peak torque. The engine is available with both manual and automatic transmissions. With the CNG kit, the petrol engine produces 73bhp and 95Nm of torque. Its CNG fuel efficiency is 26.49 km/kg. It is priced between Rs 6.44 lakh and Rs 8.05 lakh.

5. Hyundai’s Grand i10 Nios

Hyundai’s Grand i10 Nios ranks fifth on the list of cars with the best mileage. The Grand i10 Nios CNG variant has a mileage of 28 km/kg, while the petrol variant has a mileage of 21 km/l.
