Skoda Slavia First Impression : My Honest Opinion | Positives and Negatives

Skoda plans to introduce the long-awaited Slavia in India on February 28, 2022. It’s worth noting that the Slavia 1.0-litre TSI will be introduced on that date, followed by the 1.5-litre TSI on March 3, 2022. Nonetheless, the sedan will be available in three trim levels: Active,  Ambition and Style variant.

What I like about Skoda Slavia

The following are some of the characteristics that I appreciate about Skoda Slavia:

Surviving the Indian automobile sector could be a difficult task for car manufacturers, whether they are small or large corporations like Volkswagen. Customers in India prefer cars that are both practical and feature-rich. Since Volkswagen and Skoda’s arrival in India, certain items have been omitted from their dictionaries. Regardless of whether it is a Volkswagen Polo, Vento, or a Skoda Rapid. The common characteristics of these vehicles are a lack of features and a lack of practicality.

Skoda finally realizes that Indians want a car that is practical and loaded with features in addition to good performance and good build quality. What a fantastic product Skoda Slavia is. The car is larger than the rapid and thus provides more cabin and boot space. Furthermore, it includes features that many of us would appreciate, such as led headlamps, beautiful alloy wheels, an electrically folding orvm, an engine start-stop button, keyless entry, and a large sunroof, among others.

Aside from features and practicality, we Indians appreciate a car with a strong presence on the road. and this vehicle will never let you down. The Slavia looks fantastic from every angle, especially in blue.

Have you heard from anyone that a Skoda car’s engine performance is poor? Clearly, not! The Slavia is no exception, as it features the same powerful TSI engines as the KUSHAQ and Taigun.

When you enter the Slavia, you immediately notice the fit and finish, as well as the use of high-quality materials. Its interior is very luxurious, and the materials used are of the highest quality. It was previously assumed that Slavia could not obtain the same build quality as the old rapid, but once inside Slavia, you will see a different story.

Skoda also recognises that in India, the vehicle should have a high ground clearance because we Indians love to take our vehicles from potholes to high altitude Himalayas regardless of the segment. The 179 mm ground clearance provided by the Skoda Slavia is more than adequate for a sedan.

What I don’t like about Skoda Slavia

Skoda Slavia Left Rear Three Quarter

Actually, not much! This car has everything that a car should have in order to be successful. However, a few features, such as a diesel engine option, may limit its sales. Its main rivals are the Honda City and the Hyundai Verna, both of which have diesel engines in addition to petrol engines. While there is no doubt that the TSI engines offered in Slavia are more capable of providing high performance, the lack of diesel may be a turn off for many.

This vehicle has the potential to be a fierce competitor to Honda City, which is currently the most popular vehicle in the segment. However, prices will play a significant role in this situation. According to some sources, the price of Slavia has already been leaked and does not appear to be reasonable, which may impede its sales. Although we advise you to wait for official pricing.
