Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door, launched in India on 7th June 2023 is being offered in two variants of base Zeta and top spec Alpha. Prices range from Rs. 12.74 – 15.05 lakh (Ex-showroom). So, here’s a quick comparison of both of these variants to help you decide which one to go with.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny Alpha vs Zeta Variant- Exterior Differences
The Suzuki Jimny Alpha comes with projector headlamps, headlamp washers, automatic headlamps, UV-cut glasses, 15-inch alloy wheels, electrically folding and adjustable ORVMs, and other features.
The lower Zeta variant of the Jimny has halogen headlamps and no fog lights. The wheels have been upgraded to 15-inch steel rims, and the windows and windscreens have been replaced with regular glass, as well as electrically adjustable ORVMs that cannot be folded electrically.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny Alpha vs Zeta Variant- Interiors/ Features Differences
The main distinction would be in the features. The Jimny would get features like cruise control, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a push-button start/stop button, automatic climate control, and so on in the higher Alpha variant.
The Zeta Variant, on the other hand, has Manual AC, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and no push-button start/stop button or cruise control.

On the safety front, both variants get features like ABS, EBD, ESP, traction control, hill hold, hill descent control, brake assist, 6 airbags, brake limited slip differential, rear camera, etc.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny- Engine/ Transmission Options
In terms of engine specifications, both variants are powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol engine found in the Ertiga, Brezza, and Ciaz. The engine delivers 103bhp and 134Nm of torque to the rear wheels.
The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The main selling point of the new Jimny is its 4WD capability. The SUV is outfitted with AllGrip technology and a low-ratio transfer case, allowing it to travel on rough terrain.
