A few weeks earlier, Mahindra revealed the name of its upcoming 7 seater SUV as the XUV700 and now the company has made the website of the car live. XUV700 is slated to replace the current generation XUV500. Mahindra has also confirmed that the current-gen XUV500 will be discontinued for a certain period once the Mahindra XUV700 is launched.
What to expect ?
- The new XUV700 will be underpinned by the W601 monocoque platform and will be slightly larger in terms of overall dimensions in comparison to the existing XUV500 model.
- Available in a range of Diesel and Gasoline engines, Manual and Automatic transmissions, along with optional AWD capabilities
- XUV700 Will be loaded with world-class safety features, Sci-fi technology with first-in-class features like ADAS (Advanced driver-assistance systems ), Mercedes-inspired Dual screen layout, AWD system, etc.
Engine and Transmission
Mahindra has confirmed that the XUV700 will be launched in both petrol and diesel versions. The petrol variant will get a 2.0-litre m-Stallion turbo GDI engine while the diesel engine variant will feature a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel motor. Both the engines also do duty for Mahindra Thar. The transmission option will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox.
Rivals of Mahindra XUV700
The XUV700 will rival the likes of MG Hector Plus , Tata Safari , Hyundai ALCAZAR, and Upcoming Jeep compass-based 7 seater SUV.
Expected Launch and Price
The Mahindra XUV700 is expected to be officially launched in India by the end of September 2021 with an expected introductory price of Rs 16 lakh ( Ex-showroom).
