Maruti’s new-generation K10C engine powers the Celerio. This engine, which includes DualJet technology and an idle start/stop system, makes the Celerio one of the most fuel-efficient petrol cars on the market. In fact, Maruti claims a manual fuel economy of 25.24kpl (LXi, VXi, ZXi) and an AMT fuel economy of 26.68kpl (VXi). The ZXi+ manual is claimed to deliver a lower 24.97kpl, while the ZXi AMT and ZXi+ AMT are claimed to deliver a higher 26kpl.

The 1.0-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine produces 67hp and 89Nm of peak torque, which is 1hp and 1Nm less than the previous model. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard, with the VXi trim offering the option of a 5-speed AMT unit.

The new 2021 Celerio, which is based on the fifth-generation Heartect platform, gets new exteriors and interiors that should make it even more desirable than before. In terms of colour, the new Celerio will be available in six monotone shades: Arctic White, Silky Silver, Glistening Grey, Solid Fire Red, Speedy Blue, and Caffeine Brown.

The new Maruti Suzuki Celerio competes with the Hyundai Santro, the Tata Tiago, and the Datsun Go. The new Celerio is also slightly more expensive than its sibling, the Wagon R, whose prices range from Rs 4.93 to 6.45 lakh at the moment.
