2021 MINI Countryman Variants Explained
The Countryman is available only in the petrol version with a choice of two variants β the standard Cooper S and the Cooper S John Cooper Works (JCW) Inspired.
The JCW Inspired gets a sportier look as compared to the regular Countryman including sportier bumpers, a rear spoiler and larger 18-inch wheels compared to the standard carβs 17-inches.
Moreover,7-speed Steptronic Automatic Transmission with Double Clutch for MINI Countryman Cooper S and 7-speed Steptronic Automatic Sports Transmission with Double clutch available for MINI Countryman Cooper S JCW Inspired.
What’s under the hood ?
The MINI Countryman is Powered by BMW’s 2.0-litre turbocharged B48 petrol engine developing 192hp and 280Nm of torque.
The BMW B48 is a turbocharged inline-four petrol engine as first used in the MINI Copper ( MINI Hatch ) and has been used in BMW applications since 2015. This is the same engine which we get in BMW X1 and 2 series Gran coupe.

MINI Countryman Platform
The MINI Countryman is based on the UKL2 Platform which also underpins BMW X1 and BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe.
The UKL2 platform is the larger version of the UKL platform.
The objective of the front-wheel-drive UKL platform is to offer smaller models with a large interior space, with enough room for passengers in the rear seats and large cargo space.
Interior and Features
Since the MINI Countryman is taller and larger than the MINI Cooper, you get a highly practical and spacious cabin inside with an impressive amount of Legroom and Headroom.
The standard Countryman Cooper S comes with LED headlamps, fog lamps, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, rear view camera, dual-zone climate control, infotainment system with a 6.5-inch display and Bluetooth connectivity.
