The mid-size sedan segment is heating up and becoming increasingly competitive every day. Once on the brink of oblivion, this sedan segment is now resurrected, thanks to models like the Virtus, Slava, and New Verna, catering to high-performance sedan lovers. Can we expect more heat in this segment? Well, yes, because there are rumours that Hyundai is working on launching more N-Line products in India.
After the i20N Line and Venue N Line, Hyundai is gearing up for the upcoming launch of the Creta N Line in March 2024. There have been sightings of test mules of the Verna, which somehow indicate that the next N Line lineup might include the Verna. Is it possible? Let’s find out.
Hyundai Verna N Line 2024: Rumor or in Pipeline?
The hype and news of the Hyundai Verna N Line 2024 surfaced after a few people spotted a camouflaged version of the Verna testing last year. It was noted that the test mules had red brake callipers on the alloy wheels. While the regular Verna Turbo also gets these red callipers, there is a catch here that leads us to think that Hyundai might be working on the Verna N Line 2024 after launching the Creta N Line 2024.
What’s the catch here? If you see the test mule spy shots, you’ll notice that the test mule has diamond-cut alloy wheels. These are offered with the SX and SX(O) trims, the same alloy wheel design that is offered with the naturally aspirated versions of it. The turbo variants have blacked-out alloy wheels.
Of course, the Verna N Line won’t get a naturally aspirated engine. This evidence indicates the possibility that the Hyundai Verna N Line could have a different set of alloy wheels introduced with the final version.
If the Verna N Line goes into production, we expect it to be fitted with more distinguishing elements such as side skirts, a rear lip spoiler, a different front grille, and a prominent exhaust tip.
Expectations for Design Tweaks: The Verna N Line will feature a reworked design, including a new bumper, wider air inlets, pronounced side skirts with red accents, and larger wheels with a fresh design.
Powertrain: The Verna N Line 2024 will be powered by a 160PS, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed DCT unit.
Performance Enhancements: Expect a retuned suspension setup, revised steering, and a sportier exhaust for an enhanced driving experience.
Interior Updates: While the dashboard and equipment list are likely to remain unchanged, anticipate an all-black finish with N Line-specific elements such as a steering wheel, gear lever, metal pedals, and red accents.
Hyundai Verna N LINE Price: The Verna N Line is expected to have a markup of around Rs 50,000 over the regular Verna, positioning it as a premium offering in the midsize sedan segment.
