Volkswagen has unveiled the new ID Life concept at the Munich motor show. It’s a compact all-electric Crossover based SUV for urban areas which is scheduled to be launched by 2025.
The ID. LIFE is based on a smaller variant of Volkswagen’s modular electric drive matrix (MEB) that has been developed specifically
for the small car segment. This is the first time a vehicle based on the MEB has front-wheel drive
Just like another small urban SUV, the upcoming VW ID.Life is also a small SUV having a wheelbase of 2650mm which is equal to the Volkwagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq.

Apart from the above characteristics, the VW ID.Life will also feature a standard boot space of 225 litres with an additional 108 litres of space beneath the floor and a further 68-litre compartment beneath the bonnet.
Moreover to make the ID.Life more practical, VW has also provided a 68-litre compartment beneath the bonnet. A variable folding mechanism for the front and rear seat backrests also enhances the practicality of the car.
VW CEO Ralf Brandstatter described the ID.Life as a “VW for a young generation”. The car is 4,091 mm long – about four centimetres longer than a 6th Gen VW Polo , Slightly shorter than Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun but has a wheelbase of 2,650mm.
The Volkswagen ID.life will also be an affordable car with an estimated Introductory price of €20,000 ( Rs 17,39,475.84 in INR ). However, the fully loaded version is going to cost €25,000 ( Rs 21,74,344.80 in INR ). The Production version of ID.life concept is scheduled to go on sale by 2025.
