Toyota recently unveiled the Glanza facelift. The rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift has been launched in India starting at Rs 6.39 lakh (ex-showroom) and is now available in four broad trims: E, S, G, and V, as compared to just two variants in the previous version. The premium hatchback has begun deliveries, and we’ll be taking a look at the new base-spec S trim.
Although The New Glanza is available in five vibrant exterior colours: Sporting Red (New), Gaming Grey (New), Enticing Silver (New), Insta Blue, and Café White. The model shown here is finished in the Insta Blue colour. The reworked grille is visible upfront, as is the chrome strip connecting the halogen projector headlights. It did lack the LED fog lamps (available only in top variant V) but the good thing about Glanza is that, unlike Baleno, the company does not offer a provision for fog lamps in lower variants to be installed aftermarket. As a result, the lower variants do not appear to be incomplete, as the Baleno lower variants do.
The Glanza S resembles the Baleno from the side and back. Lower variants (E and S) get 15-inch steel wheels (with covers), with the only difference being the ‘Toyota’ badge on the wheel hubs. The car is shown here currently does not have a wheel cover because it will be installed by the dealership at the time of delivery.
The similarities between the Glanza S and the Baleno Delta continue at the back, with the exception of a modified LED taillight design (rather than the Maruti’s three-piece setup) and different names and variant badges.
The New Glanza has the same engine as the Baleno, which is a powerful yet fuel-efficient ‘K-Series Engine’ and comes with both a Manual Transmission (MT) and an Automatic Transmission (AT) (AMT). The new Glanza’s engine capacity is 1197cc, with a power output of 66 KW (89 PS) to provide a superior driving experience.
