After the debut of the 2021 Volkswagen Polo, The Fourth-Gen Skoda Fabia makes its global debut. While its sibling Polo received just a facelift, The Fabia undergoes a complete change, and now it is bigger and better than before. The Czech hatchback is now not only larger than before but also comes loaded with bells and whistles too.
The 2021 Skoda Fabia Mk4 is based on the VW group’s MQB A0 Platform which also underpins its siblings Audi A1 Mk2 and Volkswagen Polo Mk6. It is 4,108 mm long ie.111 mm longer than before. Most of the stretch is found in the wheelbase, now 94 mm longer than before to reach a generous 2,564 mm.
It’s offers you LED headlights and tail lights, a panoramic glass roof, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment up to 9.2 inches in size, dual zone AC ,heated steering wheel, heated windshield, LED ambient lighting, and central air vents for the rear seats.
The Skoda Fabia will be powered by a range of petrol engines and will not get any types of diesel on offer. The base variant will get the 1.0-liter MPI engine that produces 80 bhp and 93 N-m of torque delivered through a 5-speed manual transmission.
There is also a 1.0 TSI offered with 95 bhp and 175 Nm with the five-speed manual. The beefier version with 110 hp and 200 Nm upgrades to a six-speed manual or an optional seven-speed DSG transmission.
Skoda India has no plans to launch this European supermini in India anytime soon. However, its sedan version ( Rapid’s successor ) will launch in India at the end of 2021.
