Volvo will launch the facelifted XC60 SUV in India very soon. Volvo teased this new SUV by calling it a new “smarter” version of its predecessor. In its pre-preview video, Volvo promised that the next-generation XC60 will look larger, provide a calmer ride, be more fuel-efficient, and be more technologically advanced.
What’s New Volvo XC60 Facelift ?
Volvo was the first automaker to collaborate with Google and combine an Android-based infotainment system with Google apps and services. However, this time Volvo is replacing the XC60’s Sensus infotainment system with a more current Google Android-based interface adopted from the XC40 Recharge EV which is likely to be introduced next year in India.
Volvo claims that the system can use voice commands to regulate the temperature, send text messages, find directions, and offer music recommendations. Volvo claims that the system will be integrated into its other vehicles by next year.
The screen is the same 9.0-inch vertically oriented design as before, but updated software adds more customization possibilities, a voice-assistant feature, and Google Maps navigation. Volvo is also expected to include an ADAS(Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology in the next XC60 with automatic braking and collision avoidance, Pilot Assist function, and detection of other road users.
The outgoing Volvo XC60’s 2.0-litre diesel engine is expected to be replaced by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. The state of tune in which this engine would be marketed for the Indian market is currently unknown.
