Hyundai Motor India is getting ready to launch the Hyundai Exter Micro SUV in India. When it is released, the Exter will compete directly with the Tata Punch, a strong competitor in the market right now. As a result, here is a detailed comparison of both cars, based on the information we got about the Exter-
Hyundai Exter Vs Tata Punch- Exterior Design
The Hyundai Exter’s exterior design is revealed in the latest uncamouflaged images. It has a sleek grille flanked by H-shaped LED DRLs that also serve as turn indicators. The headlights are mounted on the bumper. It has multi-spoke alloy wheels, a roof-mounted spoiler, and LED taillamps that are linked.
The Tata Punch, on the other hand, has a boxy design. It has split headlamps and a gaping front grille on the front bumper. LED taillights and 16-inch machine-cut alloy wheels are also included. The little SUV has black plastic cladding all around, which adds muscle to the overall design.
Hyundai Exter Vs Tata Punch- Interiors/ Features
In terms of interiors, the car is expected to have dual-tone black and beige upholstery for the cabin, which is a standard feature of Hyundai vehicles. Aside from that, The Exter is expected to have touchscreen infotainment with the BlueLink connectivity suite. Climate control, ambient lighting, and navigation may also be included.
The Tata Punch, on the other hand, has a simple cabin design. A 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument console (with 7-inch TFT MID), and a flat-bottom steering wheel (multi-functional) are among the highlights. Other features include automatic climate control, keyless entry and go, cruise control, connected car technology, a cooled glove box, and so on.
Hyundai Exter Vs Tata Punch- Engine/ Transmission Options
The Exter’s base engine will be the same 83hp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol found in the Venue, Grand i10 Nios, and Aura. As previously reported, the second engine option will be a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which could join the lineup later. As a result, the Exter’s inclusion of Hyundai’s 1.0 T-GDi turbo-petrol engine gives it an advantage over the popular Tata Punch, which does not offer a turbo-petrol option.
The Tata Punch, on the other hand, is powered by a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine mated to both a manual and an AMT gearbox. The engine has a maximum power output of 85 hp and a maximum torque output of 113 Nm. The engine is paired with either a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT gearbox.
