Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited has announced a major announcement will be made on July 1st but has not provided any details. The Japanese manufacturer is most likely to unveil their upcoming Hyryder compact SUV. The Toyota Hyryder will compete with compact SUVs like the Creta, as Toyota prepares to enter the compact SUV segment. Previously called the D22, the Hyryder will be built on the same platform as Maruti’s upcoming mid-size SUV, codenamed YFG.
According to Zigwheels, Toyota’s Hyryder will have a 1.5-litre petrol engine with mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid technology options. The mild-hybrid power unit will have the segment’s first all-wheel-drive option, while the strong-hybrid power unit, including a powerful electric motor, will only drive the front wheels.
This SUV will be powered by Maruti’s new 1.5-litre K15C engine. As the mild-hybrid power figures are comparable to the Ertiga and XL6, so are the strong hybrid power figures comparable to the international-spec Vitara Hybrid.

In contrast to the Vitara, which receives an AMT, the India-spec SUVs will receive an eCVT, which should improve the driving experience. There will be no diesel engines on either model, but the fuel economy figures should be impressive, especially on the powerful hybrid models.
The Hyryrder will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and MG Astor when it is released. We anticipate that its price will begin at around 10.50 lakh and the Compact SUV will include numerous features such as LED headlamps, an electric sunroof, a floating touchscreen infotainment head-unit with connected technology, ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, and much more.
