Skoda is planning to launch its four new products including Rapid CNG in the Indian market within the next 12 months, confirms Zac Hollis, Director of Sales, Service & Marketing at ŠKODA AUTO India Private Ltd.
Under the hood it is expected to get a 1.0-litre TGI engine, a CNG-compliant version of the 1.0-litre TSI three-cylinder petrol unit.
The new 1.0 L TGI engine with an output of 90 hp and 160 Nm of torque has been developed for use in the new modular transverse matrix MQB-A0 platform ( initially in Rapid or its successor )
The bivalent drive in the new Rapid TGI will offer customers the combination of running on either CNG or Petrol.
The compact 1.0 TGI is a new engine specification for the small car class in the Volkswagen Group.
