Maruti Suzuki recently revealed the Grand Vitara Hybrid SUV. The Grand Vitara will replace the other C-Segment SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos when it goes on sale in early September. It’s interesting to note that the Grand Vitara will be the country’s most expensive and high-tech SUV from the Indo-Japanese automaker.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara- Comes Equipped with AllGrip AWD (all-wheel-drive) system
The brand’s most technologically advanced vehicle, the new Maruti Grand Vitara, features the first-ever AllGrip AWD (all-wheel-drive) system in its segment. The Suzuki Vitara and S-Cross, which are sold internationally, both feature the “AllGrip Select” system. The company’s Vitara model is the first to offer this feature in India.

Grand Vitara PriceThe new Maruti SUV features a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, leather seat upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, automatic air conditioning, a Head-Up Display, a digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, and connected car technology. These features are similar to those found in the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara- Engine Specifications
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara comes with two engine options. The first is a 1.5-litre mild hybrid system that develops 100 bhp and 135 Nm of peak torque with the help of a 5-speed manual or an AT. The other offering is a 1.5-litre strong hybrid engine paired to an e-CVT, the same seen in the Toyota Hyryder. The engine makes 114 bhp of power. The carmaker also claims a mileage of 27.97 kmpl, the highest in its class, and also the most fuel-efficient SUV in India.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara- Expected Prices
Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the Grand Vitara at a starting price of Rs. 9.50 lakh. The manual variants are expected to cost between Rs. 9.50 lakh and Rs. 15.50 lakh, while the automatic variants are expected to cost between Rs. 12.50 lakh and Rs. 15 lakh. Maruti Suzuki is expected to charge a premium of Rs. 1.50 lakh for automatic variants over manual variants. The Grand Vitara’s top-spec Alpha variant will also get AWD, and we expect it to cost Rs. 15.50 lakh. The following are the expected prices for the Grand Vitara:

In contrast to the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, which has three hybrid variants, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will only have two hybrid variants, Zeta Plus and Alpha Plus. The Zeta Plus and Alpha Plus are expected to cost Rs. 17.00 lakh and Rs. 18.00 lakh, respectively.
