On June 23, 2023, Hyundai Motor India rolled out the first Exter micro SUV from its facility in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The upcoming micro SUV, which will compete with the Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Ignis, will go on sale on July 10, 2023.
Hyundai Exter- Exterior Design
The front grille, C-pillar, and taillights, like many Hyundai models, have a parametric design. The LED daytime running lamps and taillights on the Exter have an H-pattern signature. The Exter is also outfitted with body cladding on the wheel arches and doors, as well as faux skid plates in the front and rear bumpers.
Hyundai Exter- Interiors/ Features
The Exter may look completely different from its siblings on the outside, but the similarities increase inside the cabin, as the upcoming Exter receives the same cabin as the Grand i10 Nios. Like the i20 and Verna, the Exter gets a full-digital instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch MID. It also comes standard with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, in-car navigation, a sunroof, and a Dashcam.
Hyundai Exter- Engine/ Powertrain Options
The Exter’s base engine will be the same 83hp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol found in the Venue, Grand i10 Nios, and Aura. As previously reported, the second engine option will be a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which could join the lineup later.
As a result, the Exter’s inclusion of Hyundai’s 1.0 T-GDi turbo-petrol engine gives it an advantage over the popular Tata Punch, which does not offer a turbo-petrol option.
Hyundai Exter- Launch Date/ Rivals
The Exter will be available in five variants: EX, S, SX, SX (O), and SX (O) and will be launched on July 10 at an expected starting price of Rs 6.5 lakh (Ex-showroom). In terms of competitors, the car will compete against Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ignis, and others.
