Powering this beast is a modified water-cooled 4-cylinder in-line engine based on the S 1000 RR’s power unit. With a peak power output of 201 hp at 12,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 113 Nm at 11,000 rpm, the M 1000 XR can sprint from 0-100 Kmph in a blistering 3.2 seconds, ultimately reaching a top speed of 278 kmph.
The engine has two catalytic converters that reduce emissions from the exhaust, and it has a titanium rear exhaust pipe that is angled steeply with a Carbon end cap.
The M 1000 XR is equipped with a range of advanced features, including a 6.5-inch TFT display with a start-up animation and M logo, a new rev counter display, and an OBD interface for M GPS Datalogger and M GPS Laptrigger. It also comes with a lightweight M battery, a USB charging socket at the rear, powerful LED light units all around, adaptive turning lights, electronic cruise control, and heated grips.
The motorcycle has different riding modes to help the rider, like “Rain,” “Road,” “Dynamic,” “Race,” and “Race Pro1-3.” It also has a new traction control system called Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and a wheelie control function with a 6-axis sensor box. These features allow the M 1000 XR to adapt to various riding conditions, ensuring optimal performance and control.
With its potent engine, aggressive styling, and cutting-edge technology, the BMW M 1000 XR promises to be a thrilling addition to the Indian motorcycle market, catering to enthusiasts seeking an adrenaline-fueled riding experience.
