After a gap of 26 years, legendary two-wheeler manufacturer Yezdi has returned to the Indian market. With the revival of Jawa in 2019, Mahindra-owned Classic Legends now brings back Yezdi in India. Yezdi has returned with three new models: the Roadster, Scrambler, and Adventure.The Roadster ranges in price from Rs 1.98 lakh to Rs 2.06 lakh, the Scrambler from Rs 2.05 lakh to Rs 2.11 lakh, and the Adventure from Rs 2.10 lakh to Rs 2.19 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi)
All of these Yezdis are powered by the same 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected DOHC engine. However, each of them has been tuned differently to fit their character.
Yezdi Roadster
With its tiny visor atop the headlamp, wide handlebars, and step-up seat, the Yezdi Roadster is similar to the Jawa 42 motorcycle. Yezdi Roadster is powered by a 334 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine that produces 29 bhp at 7,300 rpm and 29 Nm at 6,500 rpm.A six-speed constant-mesh transmission is paired with this engine. It features telescopic forks with 135 mm of travel at the front wheel and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear with preload adjustments and 100 mm of travel at the rear wheel. As for the braking hardware, there are dual-channel ABS and 320 mm front and rear disc brakes as standard.
Yezdi Roadster is a fairly practical and easy-to-manage motorcycle with a ground clearance of 175 mm and a weight of 185 kg.In terms of features, the Yezdi Roadster has LED headlamps, an LCD instrument console with information such as a trip metre, distance to empty, ABS mode, gear-position indicator, and so on.
Yezdi Scrambler
The Yezdi Scrambler motorcycle has elements that make it look like a scrambler bike, such as wire-spoke rims, a ribbed flat seat, and an upswept exhaust. The Scrambler is distinguished by its twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear, which lives up to its name.It also comes standard with the three aforementioned ABS modes, LED indicators, and a handlebar-mounted USB charger, but lacks Bluetooth connectivity.
Yezdi Adventure
The Scrambler churns out 28.7 hp of power at 8,000 RPM and 28.2 Nm of torque at 6,750 RPM. It has less suspension travel (front: 150mm, rear: 130mm), slightly less ground clearance (200mm), and a smaller 19-inch front wheel than the Adventure.
The Yezdi Adventure, as the name implies, is an adventure motorcycle with long-travel suspension, including telescopic forks with 200 mm front wheel travel and a rear monoshock with preload adjustment and 180 mm wheel travel.The adventure motorcycle is also the most powerful of the three, producing 29.7 hp at 8,000 RPM and 29.9 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 RPM.
However, the braking hardware is the same as on other Yezdi motorcycles: 320 mm front and 240 mm rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS as standard. Yezdi Adventure, like Scrambler, has three ABS modes (Road, Off-road, and Rain). It has 220 mm ground clearance and rides on 21-inch front and 19-inch rear wire-spoke rims to handle difficult terrain.
The Adventure is the only Yezdi with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, which it implements via its unique LCD display, which can be tilted to accommodate both seating and standing riding positions. It also comes standard with LED indicators and a handlebar-mounted USB charger.
