Tata Motors is preparing to launch CNG-powered Tiago and Tigor variants. The hatchback and sedan siblings will be the first models from Tata Motors to be equipped with factory-fitted CNG kits. In fact, The models have already begun to arrive at dealer stockyards across the country, indicating that the launch is only a few weeks away. These models will be followed by additional CNG variants of Tata vehicles such as the Altroz, Punch, and Nexon.
According to the spy shots, the Tiago CNG retains the same exterior design and styling as the petrol version.Except for an i-CNG logo at the rear, both cars are identical to their regular petrol variants.
According to the leaked images, the Tiago CNG will be available in Pearlescent White and Daytona Grey exterior colours. The photographs do not show the interior. However, we anticipate that it will be similar to its gasoline counterpart, with the same feature set However, because of the CNG Cylinder, the Tata Tiago CNG Boot Space is significantly reduced.
Tiago and Tigor are powered by the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 85 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque in standard models. The same engine is expected to produce less power and torque when converted to CNG. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Currently Maruti Suzuki currently dominates the CNG segment in India with multiple CNG models such as the WagonR, S-Presso, Alto, and Eeco. The Indo-Japanese automaker will also launch new CNG versions of the Swift, Dzire, Vitara Brezza, Baleno, and the next-generation Celerio. Hyundai is the only other player in the CNG segment in India, with models such as the Santro CNG, Grand i10 CNG, and Aura CNG.
