There are petrol and diesel engines available for the new Mahindra XUV700. A manual or an automatic gearbox is available as an option for both diesel and petrol engines. Mahindra’s mStallion’s 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine produces 200 horsepower and 380 Nm.
Diesel engines will be offered in two tuned versions, a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder mHawk. 155 horsepower and 360 NM will be churned out by the entry-level variants, while 185 horsepower and 420Nm (450Nm with the automatic transmission) will power the higher-end models. In addition, the diesel engine has four drive modes – Zip, Zap, Zoom, and Custom – that are said to alter performance and steering response.
