The updated Baleno hatchback is expected to be released by Maruti Suzuki in the last week of February 2022. However, the company has yet to reveal the official launch date and details. The new 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift will feature noticeable changes both inside and out, while the engine configuration is expected to remain unchanged.
According to the spy shots, the 2022 Baleno facelift will have a completely redesigned front end with a larger and wider grille that extends into the headlamp assembly. The headlamps are also brand new, with an L-shaped wraparound design and new LED daytime running lamp signatures. The front bumper is also more angular, with a larger central air intake and newly designed fog lamp housings.
The new Baleno has sleeker L-shaped taillamps, a reprofiled rear bumper, and a redesigned tailgate. In general, the new Baleno has a wider stance and a sharper styling approach than the previous model, which had a curvy design.
The existing 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.2L Dualjet petrol with SHVS mild hybrid system powertrains will continue to power the updated model. The naturally aspirated gasoline engine produces 83bhp and 110Nm of torque, while the Dualjet motor produces 89bhp and 110Nm of torque. Transmission options will also remain the same.
When it is released, the new Baleno will compete with the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, Honda Jazz, and Volkswagen Polo.
