The updated MINI 3-Door hatch also known as MINI Cooper has been launched in India a while ago. Available in singular petrol variants, the updated Mini 3 Door Hatch gets a number of cosmetic updates such as new color options, new upholstery, and a new alloy wheel design.
The all-new 3 Door Hatch ( also knows as MINI Cooper ) from Mini is offered with only one trim level in India ie. The Cooper S trim level. That’s why it is generally referred to as “Mini Cooper S” in India.

What’s under the hood ?
The MINI Cooper S is Powered by BMW’s 2.0-litre turbocharged B48 petrol engine developing 192hp and 280Nm of torque.
The BMW B48 is a turbocharged inline-four petrol engine as first used in the MINI Cooper ( MINI Hatch ) and has been used in BMW applications since 2015. This is the same engine which we get in BMW X1, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, and of course its bigger sibling Mini Countryman.
The MINI Countryman is based on the UKL1 platform which also underpins Mini Convertible.

Exterior & Interior
Since MINI is a Sub-brand of BMW since 2000, there are many qualities you get in MINI which resemble a BMW such as Build Quality, Engine, Features, and Platform but not Looks, of course!
On the Exterior the facelifted Mini Cooper S gets a revised nose with a grille along with new bumpers front and rear. The 3 Door Hatch rides on 17-inch alloy wheels having glossy black treatment. On the Inside, Cooper S gets a standard 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Also new to the equipment list is an optional 5.0-inch digital instrument display.
Talking about the seating comfort, the front row seats of Cooper S are very comfortable and will hold you perfectly at high speed. Despite the fact that MINI Cooper is a 3 door Hatch it has 2 rear seats which are only good for kids. The Boot Space of Mini Cooper S is 211 Litres.
2021 Mini Cooper S : Drive impressions
The 2.0 L B48 engine extracts 192 horsepower which is a great amount of power for a small 3 hatch door car. The peak power comes at 6000 rpm, while the torque of 280 Nm is on tap from 1250 rpm which combines optimal responsiveness at low engine speeds. Mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic, the engine is very responsive and can do 0 to 100 kmph in 6.7 seconds.
You can choose between Mid, Green, and Sport driving modes. As soon as you select the Sport mode, it will start unleashing the sound of breath-taking power. The sound seems like you are driving a race car on the track.
The Suspensions are on the stiffer side and you will feel each bump or potholes in your cabin which is a bit uncomfortable but as soon as you reach the high speed you will notice that the car is very stable at high speed.
